Key issues/programs that the group has addressed/implemented since August 2008: Created a website and logo. Created a pilot program for new recycling receptacles to recycle old batteries, printer cartridges, and compact fluorescent lights. Energy efficiency was at the forefront of the New Science Center with compact fluorescent light bulbs, motion sensors, programmable thermostats and extra insulation. The New Residence Hall (under construction) will also be energy efficient with high performance window glazing, programmable thermostats, low flow toilets,T-5 high efficiency and compact fluorescent lamps, occupancy sensors. http://www.stonehill.edu/x17526.xml

ENERGY EFFICIENCY

Over the past half-decade, at least one building per year has been retrofitted with more efficient lighting. Facilities installed new irrigation wells on campus that reduce our need to purchase water and that also save on sewerage fees. The College has also replaced storm windows in older buildings on campus and installed motion sensors to control lighting.
