PLANNING

UT has a parking policy that encourages staff and students to park on the outskirts of campus and walk into campus. UT also has a Parking Policy to inform staff and students of the environmental benefits of the program. UT also has installed bike corrals around the campuses and hosts a free program called the “Toledo Bicycling Community” who hosts meetings on the campus. The community will operate as a social networking group where bikers can talk about gear, equipment, safer routes to work and vacation bike touring, according to Diana Sharp, who works in the College of Law's Legal Clinic and is the program’s founder. The group also will keep a collective tally of the gallons of gas saved by deciding not to drive to work every day. They also plan to use public transportation and carpooling as alternatives to getting to UT during the winter.
